Our documentary explores a day in the life of a gay man. Mike Magistro is a freshman at Marywood and he gives us a little insight into how his life is different and yet the same from other students on campus. We followed Mike around for a day, talked to some fellow students and even one of Mike's teachers. All of them explained how Mike was a stand out, not just because of his sexual orientation, but because he is not afraid to be himself. He is a hard worker and knows what he wants out of life. At least, as much as a 19 year old kid could know. Mike talks about everything from his love of music and theatre to finding relationships at Marywood. Overall, our documentary presents aspects of a day in Mike's life and how it can be difficult. Yet at the same time, it shows the advantage of just being yourself, simply. And that's the most important lesson we can learn.

Mike Magistro is by far one of the coolest kids on campus. I met him in my Univ 100 class and we instantly connected through various pop culture references that no one else understood and our shared love of Britney Spears. I pretty much knew from day one that he was gay. And I really knew it the day he wore high heels and walked on top of the tables in class. I loved that he was totally ok to be himself. He knows who he is and he is real. He's an entertaining person who knows how to live life. I think that's why he is so popular on campus. When we filmed this documentary, every where we went, he knew somebody. Mike is definitely a unique person. He stands out among a crowd and has a fantastic presence. That is why we chose to make our documentary on Mike Magistro.
